Are you Toxic?

January 22, 2018

Toxicity presents itself in many different forms, physically, mentally and emotionally. Today I would like to discuss toxins in the body. Toxins are defined as chemicals or substances that causes disturbances to a organism. Some can be poisonous and do great harm. When we are toxic we experience different symptoms both physically and mentally.

Toxin can be foreign agents such biological, lifestyle or environmental agents.  Some examples are  bacteria, viruses, chemicals, drugs, environmental factors such as  air pollutants, auto exhaust, heavy metals, pesticides. Lifestyle factors include poor dietary choices, processed foods, fast-foods, excessive caffeine, Rx and Over the Counter drugs, artificial food additives, coloring and preservatives. Toxins deposits can lead to a variety of ailments as shown below.

Some of the common symptoms of toxicity include:

  • Fatigue

  • Trouble sleeping

  • Weight gain or difficulty losing weight

  • Inflammation

  • Skin disorders, acne, and eczema

  • Loss of mental clarity- brain fog

  • Muscle and Joint pain

  • Congestion

Detoxification is a great way to reduce and eliminate toxins from your body.  Reducing exposure to chemicals, and being wary of what you eat is a great way to start. By detoxing you can:

  • Feel better

  • Improve your metabolism

  • Optimize your performance

  • Reduce stress

  • Improve overall health

  • Reduce risk of diseases

One of the first steps to improving health is removing the unhealthy and adding nutritious foods to support the body's natural process.
